The Vicariate of St. John the Baptist composed of the Parishes of St. John (Cathedral), St. Jude (Andagao), St. Joseph the Worker (Numancia), St. Joseph SVM (Banga), Holy Rosary (New WAshington) and Vicariate of St. Joseph the Worker composed of St. Joseph the Worker (MAlinao), St. John Nepomucene (Tangalan, Holy Child (Makato) and St. Isidore (Lezo) joined together for its Annual On-Going Formation (OGF). It was participated by 160 catechists from the two vicariates with the Theme "LIFE IN CHRIST". The OGF started with an Opening Liturgy where participants p
erformed the PILGRIM WALK. Rev. Fr. Jose Relente Parish Priest of Numancia and former DCM Director welcome the participants. Rev. Fr. Vincent P. Cajilig, DCM Director served as the lecturer where he talked about Christian Life. The OGF ended at 3:00 PM.
RETREAT AND RECOLLECTION FACILITATORS REUNION AND UPDATING

CATECHETICAL INSTITUTE OF MENSA DOMINI (CIMD) Antique
50 Retreat and Recollection Facilitators who undergone 10 Days Course at Catechtical Institiute of Mensa Domini in san Jose, Antique gathered for a reunion and Updating last June 1 to 4, 2011. Faciltators of the said course Sis. Ma., Febe Unilongo, MSLT, Sis. Rosinni Escarilla,MSLT facilitated the reunion from Batch 1 to 9 together with the future batch 10 who are also present. The Retreat and Recollection Facilitating Course started Summer of 2002 with participants from Antique, Iloilo, Romblon, Aklan and even Indonesia. Socialization was held to further strengthen the camaraderie and relationships of Recollection and Retreat Facilitators. All the batches had their batch presentations.Sis. Fideles, RA also graced the occasion and talked on Psycho-Spiritual Integration.

The Diocesan Catechetical Ministry conducted a Diocesan Recollection of Catechist with the theme "Catechesis of the family, for the family and by the family. Around 400 catechist from the 24 Parishes attended the said recollection. Rev Fr. Vincent Cajili, DCM Director, facilitated the said e
talked about the misconceptions of formation of parents towards their children like the concept of doing things in behalf of their children because parents doesn't want their children to experience what they have experienced in the past. This year's recollection involved family members in which Roldan Family from Boracay shared their experience and their supp
ort to the ministry were the mother is a catechist. A jigsaw puzzle game served as the activity for the family where each member took their part in solving the jigsaw puzzle. In the afternoon, a Eucharistic celebration was held, no less Very Rev. Ulysses Dalida, Diocesan Administrator, is the presider and homilist. A family consecration was then held as the culmination activity which ended at 4:00 pm.
DIOCESAN FAMILY BIBLE ENCOUNTER 2010

September 25, 2010 is a celebration of the family in the Diocese of Kalibo where hundreds of families joined the celebration. Five ministries worked together for this event: The Directors of Catechetical Ministry- Rev. Fr. Vincent Cajilig, Bible Apostolate- Rev. Fr. Arnaldo Crisostomo, Family and Life- Rev. Fr. Josue Escalona, Basic Ecclessial Community (BEC)- Msgr. Jose Parohinog and Youth- Rev. Fr. Glenn Magpusao were present to support the said event. Rev. Fr. Ulysses Dalida, Our Diocesan Administrator, give a message where he stressed the importance of the family in the formation of the world and strengthening of the Catholic Faith. Fr. Vincent on the other hand lauched two catechetical materials- coloring book on the Story of Creation and The Holy Rosary. The National Secretariat of the Episcopal Commission on Biblical Apostolate (ECBA) spearheaded the Extemporaneous Speech Contest for the Youth where the contestant from the Sto. Niño Seminary won the said ctegory. Ray Mark Yambing of St. Joseph's Academy (Malinao Parish Representative) also did well in the said contest. On the other hand, Elin Family of the Parish of St. Blaise, Torralba, Banga won the Family Bible Encounter. Rentino Fmily of Parich of St. Joseph, Spouse of the BVM, Banga and Mr. And Mrs. Stephen Inac of the Parish of St. Joseph the Worker, Malinao placed second and third respectively. The winners will represent the Diocese of Kalibo in the regional level competition in Cebu City.The Diocesan Commission on Youth add color to the event by presenting intermission numbers. Open Bible Quiz served as games during breaks of every contest. In the afternoon, a video presentation about the family was given by Fr. Josue. The video t6ackles the real truth about the programs on reproductive health and population issues which the church is very critical to defend and protect the morality and Life.. The event ended at 3:00 pm through a community singing and blessing/consecrating of the families.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL FOR RESPONSIBLE VOTING
The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) of St, Joseph the Worker Parish of Malinao, Aklan played an essential role in the conduct of the Philippines First Automated Eletion last May 10, 2010. Spirit of volunteerism was seen through the strong, dedicated and hard working PPCRV Volunteers. The Parish has 52 volunteers in different fields such as Precinct poll Watchers, Voters Assistance Desk, Roving volunteers dubbed as Sp[ecial Witnesses of Truth (SWOT) and votes educators. For several Sundays prior to the elections Bro. Edgar Icawalo, the PPCRV Coordinator along with Sis. Guillerma Carmen conducted voters education before masses.
Last May 5, 2010 volunteers from St. Joseph the Worker and the Parish of the Holy Rosary, Rosario, Malinao conducted a joint training (see pictures below) with Rev. Fr. Ulysses I. Dalida, Diocesan Administrator facilitated the event.
Full of enthusiasm and spirit of volunteerism, our volunteers selflessly take the risk of poll watching amidst incidents of ambush and other election related incidents that happened prior and during the elections. On May 9, 2010 PPCRV volunteers together with the Parish Youth Ministry conducted the Lighting of Candle of HOPE (Honest, Orderly, Peaceful Electins). DIOCESAN STAY-IN FORMATION
Seven Malinao catechist participated in this year's Diocesan Stay-In Formation of Catechist last April 7 to 8, and April 8 to 9, 2010 for Co-Formators Team and Visual Artist/Animators respectively. Sis. Luisa Igoy(Tambu-an) specialized on Methodology, Sis. Alfreza Tolentino(Tambu-an) for Indiidual parts of the Mass, Sis. Rosemary Intenta(Cabayugan) for Prayers and Sacraments, Sis. Fanny Gonzales(kin. Viejo) for Bible and Sis. Remy Irang(San Roque) for Psychology of the Learners actively participated in the said event where they undergo specializations and Lesson Demonstration. On the other hang, Sis. Revilla Renacido (Poblacion) and Sis. Lynitte Iturralde (Manhanip) specialized in Animation and Visual artist.
